New apartments numbers down in September
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has reported that the number of new apartments for sale all over Israel has dropped to 8,900.
The central Central Bureau of Statistics have reported that the supply of new apartments, at the end of September is 23 percent lower, compared to the same period last year, with only 8,900 apartments available across the country. In addition, the report shows that in the 9 first months of 2008 there has been a 2.2 percent drop in new apartment offerings compared to 2007.
The bureau report stated that only 900 new apartments were sold during September, with 830 of them in active construction during the time of sale. The apartments sold in September have been in the market about a year from the time construction started to the date of sale.
28 percent of the apartments sold in the first 9 months were in the area of Jerusalem, 23 percent in Tel Aviv and 22% in the center of Israel.
